Brief Curriculum Vitae

Katerina Mouratidou was elected and appointed Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-GREECE in 1999 and currently serves as Full Professor of the subject “Sportpedagogy”. She holds two basic degrees: One from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science and one from the Department of Psychology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed her doctoral studies and received the corresponding degree from the German Sport University of Cologne-Germany. Her research interests are focused on the scientific field of Sports Pedagogy and in particular on supporting children’s social-moral competence, social integration, and emotional expression in the context of physical education and sport. She has published more than 60 scientific publications (monographs, book chapters, and articles in scientific journals, also in collaboration with other researchers) and has presented numerous scientific papers in prestigious international publications and conferences. In addition, she has taught in undergraduate and postgraduate curricula of Greek and European universities, as well as in curricula of the International Olympic Academy. She has supervised a significant number of postgraduate and doctoral theses. Furthermore, she has reviewed dozens of scientific papers in North American, European and Greek scientific journals and has been and is a member or leader of research groups in European and Greek research projects. On an administrative level and in the context of her academic career, she has served as coordinator of important committees in the Department and was the one who authored, submitted and successfully claimed from the Institute of Educational Policy the automatic pedagogical competency for the graduates of the Department. Finally, in the period 1-12-2017 to 31-8-2020 she served as Head (President) of the Department.
